HISTORY
- Early 1982
the Saints Church in East Frankston purchased a building in Campbell
Street, Frankston. After much deliberation the church decided to offer the
house to the public to be used as a Community House. A Steering Committee
was formed until a General Meeting could be held to elect office bearers
and Committee Members.
- April 1982
the "House" was opened and a playgroup that had rented space from the
church moved into 6 Cambell Street and continued operating their group
from the new premises.
- February 1983
the House advertised for a voluntary Co-ordinator to co-ordinate
activities at the House and later a grant was applied for from Community
Services Victoria . This funding was granted and used to employ the
co-ordinator part-time.
- January 1985
the House was incorporated.
- February 1992
Campbell Street Community House was relocated to a building owned by
Frankston Council at 88 Karingal Drive under the new name of Karingal
Neighbourhood House Inc.
